CNC Machining
CNC machining is a machining process that can be used to improve dimensional accuracy and tolerances. This includes fits, flatness or roughness that cannot be achieved through a casting process.
Our production locations have advanced CNC machines, ensuring quality and precision. This is often possible in both small and large series.
Machining includes various operations, including milling, turning, grinding, and drilling. These operations are often offered following a casting production process (see: high/low pressure die casting and shell molding) to achieve the desired end product.
What is CNC Machining?
Machining is a process in which material is removed from the product using cutting tools, resulting in chip formation. This is in contrast to chipless operations such as cutting, punching, bending, etc. Or thermal operations, including laser and plasma cutting.
By doing this in a computer-controlled manner (CNC = Computer Numerical Control), processes can be automated and high-quality, repeatable output can be achieved.
Why CNC?
Often, the perception is that CNC machining is an expensive matter. However, it doesn't always have to be that way!
By critically looking at your product, its application, and the intended production process, we can work with you early on to suggest and advise on the most cost-effective production method.
Sometimes, a small design change can result in a better and cheaper end product. For example, it may be worthwhile to keep a casting mold as simple as possible, with some dimensions, holes, and/or recesses made using CNC machining. This results in lower start-up costs for the mold and a more dimensionally accurate end product.
Materials
Chinaworks offers CNC production and post-processing in various materials, including:
- Aluminium
- Stainless Steel
- Metal
- POM plastic
The mentioned materials are available in various grades, such as RVS314 & 316, Aluminum 5754 & 6061, depending on the requirements and needs of the product.
